🔎 Product Descriptions, Hallmarks, Age & Attribution

We make reasonable efforts to research, photograph, measure, and accurately describe every item offered for sale.

Descriptions concerning an item's age, period, maker, origin, pattern, material, silver standard, hallmark, or attribution are based on visible markings, available reference information, provenance where available, testing or professional assessment where applicable, and our good-faith evaluation.

Items described as Sterling Silver, 925, 925/1000, or another silver standard are identified based on visible hallmarks, recognized markings, available documentation, testing, or professional assessment where applicable.

Because antique and vintage items may be decades or centuries old, historical information can sometimes be incomplete, uncertain, or subject to differing interpretations. Unless expressly stated otherwise, estimated dates, periods, makers, origins, or attributions should therefore be understood as good-faith identifications based on information reasonably available to us at the time of listing.

If a particular hallmark, maker, date, provenance, silver purity, weight, material, or other characteristic is especially important to your purchasing decision, please contact us before purchase. We will be happy to provide additional photographs or available information whenever reasonably possible.

Our products are antique or vintage items and are not newly manufactured goods, unless a listing expressly states otherwise.

Age-related characteristics may include light scratches, surface wear, patina, tarnish, small marks, minor irregularities, signs of previous polishing or use, and variations associated with handmade or historical manufacturing techniques.

These characteristics are generally considered part of the history, authenticity, and character of antique and vintage items and are not considered defects when they have been disclosed in the listing or are reasonably visible in the photographs.

We encourage customers to carefully review all photographs, descriptions, measurements, weights, hallmarks, and condition information before purchasing.

📷 Photographs, Measurements & Weight

Photographs form an important part of each item's description. We make reasonable efforts to show the item's overall appearance, condition, decoration, hallmarks, and other significant characteristics.

Actual colours, silver tones, reflections, patina, and surface appearance may vary slightly because of lighting, photography, monitor settings, or device displays.

Measurements and weights are provided as accurately as reasonably possible. Minor variations may occur because of measuring methods, equipment, or rounding.

Where an item consists of multiple pieces, the listing should be consulted to determine whether a stated weight refers to the entire set, silver components only, or individual pieces.

🌍 Customs, Duties & Import Taxes

International buyers are responsible for understanding any customs requirements applicable in their destination country.

Unless otherwise stated at checkout or required by applicable law, buyers are responsible for customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage fees, clearance charges, or other governmental charges imposed by the destination country.

We are not responsible for delays caused by customs inspections, customs clearance procedures, governmental processing, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

All customs declarations will accurately describe the merchandise and state the transaction value as required by applicable law.

We cannot declare merchandise as a gift, intentionally understate its value, or provide inaccurate customs information.

Customers purchasing internationally are encouraged to review their country's import requirements before placing an order.

💝 Packaging

Every antique or vintage item is different. Packaging size, materials, and methods may therefore vary depending on the item's dimensions, weight, value, fragility, and destination.

We take particular care when packaging silverware and use appropriate protective materials and, where necessary, multiple layers of protection to help minimize the risk of damage during transportation.

Whenever reasonably practical and consistent with safe shipping, we seek to reuse or use recyclable packaging materials to reduce unnecessary waste.

Oversized, unusually heavy, high-value, or particularly fragile items may require special packaging or shipping arrangements.

📦 Shipping

Orders are normally prepared and shipped within 1–7 business days after payment has been successfully processed, unless a different processing period is stated in the individual listing.

We use established shipping carriers such as Canada Post, Purolator, UPS, or other appropriate carriers depending on destination, parcel size, value, and shipping requirements.

Tracking information will be provided where tracking service is available and included with the selected shipping method.

Delivery dates and transit times provided by carriers are estimates unless expressly guaranteed by the applicable carrier service.

Delays caused by carriers, customs authorities, weather, service interruptions, strikes, natural events, or circumstances outside our reasonable control may occasionally occur.

Certain oversized, unusually heavy, high-value, or fragile items may require additional insurance, special packaging, or alternative shipping arrangements. Any additional charges requiring customer approval will be disclosed before shipment.

Customers requiring expedited shipping or special delivery arrangements are encouraged to contact us before placing an order.

📦 Shipping Damage

If an item arrives materially damaged during transportation, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible, preferably within 14 days of delivery.

Please retain the item, shipping carton, shipping label, and all original protective packaging until the matter has been resolved.

To assist us with investigating the damage and submitting any applicable carrier or insurance claim, please provide clear photographs showing:

  • the damaged item;

  • the exterior shipping package;

  • the interior packaging and protective materials; and

  • the shipping label.

We will work with the customer to assess the circumstances and, where appropriate, assist with a carrier or shipping insurance claim.

Depending on the circumstances and applicable legal requirements, an appropriate resolution may include a refund, partial refund, repair arrangement, replacement where reasonably available, or another mutually agreed solution.

These reporting procedures do not limit any mandatory consumer rights or remedies available under applicable law.

🔄 Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations

Because antique and vintage silverware is unique, historical, and often one-of-a-kind, we generally do not accept returns or exchanges solely because a customer has changed their mind, except where a right of return, cancellation, or withdrawal is required by applicable consumer law or expressly provided in an individual listing or separate Return & Refund Policy.

Detailed conditions governing returns, refunds, cancellations, return shipping, and refund processing are contained in our separate Return & Refund Policy, which customers should review before purchasing.

EU/EEA Customers

Where applicable, customers located in the European Union or European Economic Area are entitled to any mandatory withdrawal, cancellation, return, and refund rights provided by applicable consumer protection law.

Where a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal applies, it will be honoured in accordance with applicable law and the conditions stated in our Return & Refund Policy.

Nothing in these Shop Policies is intended to waive or restrict those mandatory rights.

Customers in Other Jurisdictions

For customers outside jurisdictions providing a mandatory statutory right of withdrawal, sales are generally final in relation to change-of-mind returns, subject to our Return & Refund Policy and any mandatory rights available under applicable consumer law.

We are not responsible for deterioration or damage resulting from improper cleaning, misuse, alteration, unauthorized repair, inappropriate storage, or use inconsistent with the nature and condition of the item, except to the extent that liability cannot legally be excluded.
